A few months after the Green Movement and its suppression in 2009 I began to make images related to the traditional Iranian theater, Tazieh. “Passion Play” was a solo show at Canessa Gallery, San Francisco, CA in 2010. During the preparation for the show, my apartment caught fire. For a few months the place was useless, and unhealthy to live in. I needed to finish the works, and get ready for the show. You may feel the smoke, and darkness.
